A year has passed since the war against Jack’s father that freed the humans from their roles as blood slaves and servants to the vampire race. Ok, so I gave this book 5 stars because I just LOVE the characters. There's something so dynamic about Erica Stevens vampires. They fall in love quickly and forcefully and gosh(!), I don't know one human who's had a rabid relationship such as her characters (not that I wouldn't want one myself-wink wink). Introducing Hannah to the story was a little bit of a rocky start. Sure she's young and she's got mixed feelings but it just seemed prosaic. Why can't someone write characters who know whatIm finally finishing up one of my favorite vampire series and although I LOVED books 1-4 this one fell flat for me. I enjoyed seeing everyone from past books again and meeting new characters. But I found myself skimming a lot which is never a good sign. I still love this series though and plan on continuing with the next book which Im very excited about because William has always been one of the best characters. 3.5 Stars!

For me, this series has been an average read until I read Redemption. I'm not a huge fan of Aria and Braith. Their story was good but at times felt over dramatic and repetitive. This was very good, but I don't know if it is quite a 5...I think more of a 4-4.5. It took longer than I would have liked to get into it and because of the pace, writing and a little bit because if Hannah I wouldn't give it a 5I loved Jack's character but I wasn't a huge fan of Hannah. I loved the Captive Series from the moment I started reading it and I was excited to get Jacks story. I enjoyed reading Jack and Hannahs story and reading about Jacks continued friendship/brotherhood with William. However, Braith and Aria will forever be my favorite and I loved that they were brought into this story. I love that Aria is still the headstrong person we all fell in love with.
